The concept behind this piece is rooted in my study of the Nový Dvur Monastery, a Trappist monastery in Czechia that underwent significant reconstruction in the early 2000s, led by designer John Pawson. A key element of Cistercian architecture is its focus on light, simplicity, and the removal of ornamentation. Creating this artwork emerged from reflecting on my journey from my previous life in design to my transition into full-time painting. Many aspects of my design background continue to influence how I approach my artistic practice, bringing a sense of clarity and structure to my work.
