Saint Paris is an artwork inspired by a trip to Paris, where I had the privilege of witnessing the intersection of fashion and fine art. During my visit, I encountered a stunning black dress by Yves Saint Laurent displayed alongside Ellsworth Kelly’s striking Black White painting, the very artwork that had inspired the design of the dress. This seamless exchange between disciplines captivated me: the way art influenced fashion, and in turn, how fashion became a form of artistic expression.

I was particularly drawn to the idea of extending this creative dialogue even further, contributing to the ongoing cycle of inspiration. Just as Kelly’s painting had informed Saint Laurent’s design, I sought to reinterpret and respond to the YSL dress through my own artistic lens. The result is Saint Paris, a work that pays homage to this dynamic relationship between art and fashion, reflecting on the enduring influence of one medium upon another.
